We ordered a limited 7 piece run with Knaggs Guitars featuring unique options that had never been made readily available.

We ordered 4 Kenai’s and 3 Severn Trembucks. What makes these guitars so unique is they all feature a very highly figured maple top AND back, stained to match. They also have a matching stained maple neck, (even on the Kenai’s which normally have a mahogany neck), and a matching maple peg head and truss rod cover. The back of these guitars look just as amazing as the front! Even that back plates are stained maple. We topped it all off with a very dark ebony finger board, and the result is simply stunning. These are absolutely some of the most amazing guitars we’ve ever seen.

But they are not only beautiful to look at. They play and sound as amazing as you would expect. After years spent as a master builder at Paul Reed Smith Guitars in charge of their Private Stock Program, Joe Knaggs has proven to be at the top of his game again and again. These guitars are not only a pleasure to play and look at, but also have a strong potential for a sound investment. No pun intended.

This particular guitar is a Tier 1 Severn Trembuck in Pink and White fitted with Seymour Duncan JB and Jazz pickups with coil tapping. Morningstar inlays adore the dark ebony fingerboard. The Chesapeake tremolo works flawlessly allowing seamless pitch fluctuation while the guitar wonderfully stays in tune. 25.5 inch scale with a 12″ radius. 1 5/8″ nut with medium fret wire and Gotoh locking tuners.

This is a new series of finishes for Knaggs Guitars. This one specifically is called Walnut Drift. The Gold hardware complements the finish tastefully.

This guitar features a swamp ash body and a satin rock maple neck with an ebony board. Wenge pickguard with combination hardware.

Pickups are specially wound Seymour Duncan ATX-K’s specifically made for Joseph Knaggs and weighs in at a comfortable 7.6 pounds.

The one of a kind SSC features a custom aqua color requested by us over a monstrous Tier 1 quilted maple top. Notice how there is no binding visible from the front of the guitar. There is also no purfling. This allows the color to go uninterrupted all the way to the edges of the guitar. From the side, you can see the scraped maple binding. The cocobolo fretboard is the icing on the cake.

It features the tried and true wood combination of a Mahogany body with a carved Maple top. The classic look of a singlecut solidbody electric is where Steve Stevens’ Signature guitar starts. It features custom SS neck carve with 22 frets with a 24.75” scale, block inlays, and ray gun headstock inlay. The Bare Knuckle pick-ups, Tone Pros locking bridge, and Kluson tuners assure that this guitar is stage and studio ready.

This particular SSC has the best top I’ve ever seen without being charged for a Tier 1 upgrade. It features a cocobolo board,  (which means no international sales on this one), and the Steve Stevens Bare Knuckle Pickups. Comes with a high quality Knaggs hard case.

This is certainly one of the best looking guitars we have ever had in the store. Pictures do not do it justice. The color fading is impeccable. The figured maple on the top of the guitar and on the neck is remarkable and the sound that is the culmination of three Seymour single coil pickups, maple top, and alder back and sides is incredible.

This Tier 2 Knaggs Keya is a beauty to look at as well as play. Effortless bending, spot on intonation, and tone to die for. Finished tastefully in a Duane Allman Burst Finish with Gold Hardware, the level of craftsmanship is readily apparent and second to none. Features include Morningstar inlays, bone nut, wood binding with 3 ply purfling, mahogany body and a maple top. 24 frets on a 12″ radius rosewood fingerboard and a 24 3/4″ scale length.

The Knaggs Severn X offers a flatter fretboard radius of 14″. The neck has a nut width of 1.656″, and the depth of the neck going from .820″ to .915″.

This particular Severn X features a swamp ash body with a maple neck and an ebony board with dot inlays. The guitar also has an Anigre pickguard, nickel hardware, Gotoh Mag Lock tuners, graphite nut, and Seymour Duncan ATX-K pickups, which are specially wound for Joe’s guitars.

The Kenai is Joseph Knaggs take on the iconic mahogany body/maple top single cutaway, set neck design. It’s absolutely gorgeous but more importantly feels & sounds fantastic. The neck profile has all the depth of a 50’s Gibson but with a smoother, more tapered shoulder for a more refined feel. The Faded Onyx finish looks amazing with a lot of figuring in the top and the natural maple binding with purfling adds the perfect amount of sophistication. Here we have a one of a kind Severn in a custom Alpine White finish. We challenged Joe Knaggs and his team by asking for a translucent white flame maple top finish, which proved to be rather difficult which is why you see blond and trans white finishes on mostly ash and alder bodied guitars. To make the figure in the maple “pop”, they added a hint of blue, and this is the amazing result.

This guitar has tone for days. It feels like it wants to resonate right off your lap. The sound of the Seymour Duncan ATX-K’s, which are specifically voiced and are exclusive to Knaggs Guitars, give the guitar a much more meatier tone than many other single coils out there. The maple top with ash body make a great tone wood combination giving the guitar a very crisp attack and smooth sustain.

The flame in the non-tinted maple neck and fret board is beautiful, as are the black diamond inlays. With an Anigre pickguard, Gotoh locking tuners, and a graphite nut, this package is complete and hard to beat!
